Switchgear · Switchboards · Field Services
Power distribution equipment, built and kept running.
Tachyon Engineering Services manufactures custom low- and medium-voltage switchgear and switchboards, refurbishes existing equipment, and performs field testing, commissioning and protective relay work for utilities, contractors and industrial facilities across Southern California.
What we do
Five lines of work, all on the same equipment — from a new lineup on the floor to a relay that needs to trip correctly at two in the morning.
Custom switchgear & switchboards
Purpose-built low- and medium-voltage lineups assembled to your single-line and device schedule, indoor or NEMA 3R.
Equipment rebuild & restoration
Enclosure repair, roof replacement, repaint, bus and component refresh — extending the life of gear that doesn't need replacing.
Testing & commissioning
Acceptance and maintenance testing, energization support, and punch list correction on new and existing installations.
Protective relay services
Relay configuration, settings implementation, functional testing and coordination support across major manufacturers.
Replacement parts supply
Sourcing of breakers, relays, and obsolete or hard-to-find components for equipment still in service.
Drawings & nameplate packages
As-built drawing review, nameplate cross-reference, and submittal packages that survive utility inspection.
